This Privacy Policy explains how Jamuzo, available at jamuzo.com, collects, uses, stores and protects personal data.
It applies when you browse the website, use the Jam Machine, explore the guitar library, create a Guitar Passport, contact us or interact with advertising and consent features.
We aim to collect only the information reasonably needed to operate, protect and improve Jamuzo.
Many features work without an account
You can use the public Jam Machine and browse public chord, scale, progression, key and tuning guides without creating a Guitar Passport.
Interactive audio, fretboard controls and many other tools operate directly in the browser. Jamuzo does not currently ask public users to upload personal files, recordings or photographs in order to use the core guitar tools.
A compatible browser may temporarily hold audio data, interface state, preferences or other technical information needed to operate the feature.
Standard hosting, security and server systems may still process technical request information whenever a page or media file is loaded.
Personal data is used for defined purposes
We may use information to:
- operate and deliver the Jamuzo website and Jam Machine;
- create, authenticate and maintain Guitar Passport accounts;
- remember the selected playing hand and player preferences;
- save chords, activity, progress, achievements and rewards;
- provide password-reset and account-security functions;
- understand general website and feature usage;
- identify errors and improve performance or accessibility;
- protect Jamuzo, accounts and infrastructure from misuse;
- respond to emails, questions, requests and legal notices;
- display and measure advertising according to consent choices;
- establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use Guitar Passport progress to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
Who may receive or process information
Personal data may be processed by carefully selected providers where reasonably necessary to operate Jamuzo.
- website hosting, server and database providers;
- content-delivery, firewall and security providers;
- email delivery and communication providers;
- technical maintenance and development providers;
- UniConsent as the consent management platform;
- Google AdSense and participating advertising vendors;
- accounting, legal or professional advisers where reasonably necessary;
- courts, public authorities or law-enforcement bodies where disclosure is legally required.
Providers acting on our instructions should process information only for the agreed purpose and with appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
Some third-party providers, particularly advertising providers, may act as independent controllers for their own purposes.
Some providers may process data outside Slovakia
Jamuzo can be accessed internationally, and some hosting, security, consent, email or advertising providers may process data in countries outside Slovakia or the European Economic Area.
Where legally required, international transfers should be protected by an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, another recognised transfer mechanism or an applicable legal exception.
Third-party providers may publish additional information about their processing locations, transfer safeguards and data-protection practices.
Information is kept only as long as reasonably needed
Retention depends on the type of information and the reason for which it is processed.
- Guitar Passport information is generally kept while the account remains active and until deletion is requested or the account is otherwise removed.
- Deleted account information may remain temporarily in restricted backups, security records or records needed for legal claims.
- Internal statistics may be retained in aggregated or pseudonymous form for traffic comparison, website improvement and historical reporting.
- Server and security logs are retained for a limited period appropriate to security, maintenance, investigation and troubleshooting.
- Contact emails may be retained while the request is handled and for a reasonable period needed to document the communication.
- Consent records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to remember preferences and demonstrate compliance.
- Accounting, legal or regulatory records are retained for the period required by applicable law.
Google, UniConsent and other independent providers may apply their own retention periods.
Accounts should be created with appropriate permission
Jamuzo is a general guitar-learning service and is not designed to intentionally collect unnecessary personal information from children.
If you are below the age at which you may legally create an online account or consent to the relevant data processing in your country, a parent or legal guardian must approve or manage your use of the Guitar Passport.
If you believe that a child has provided personal data without the required authorisation, contact marek@jamuzo.com so that we can review the situation.
Reasonable measures protect Jamuzo information
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect accounts, databases and other information from accidental loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
Measures may include HTTPS encryption, access controls, password hashing, software updates, firewalls, backups, logging, restricted administration access and security monitoring.
No website, server, database or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use a unique password, protect your login details and notify us if you suspect unauthorised account access.
Jamuzo does not make legally significant automated decisions
Jamuzo may automatically calculate playing time, streaks, progress, library activity, achievements or recommendations. These features are designed for motivation and interface personalisation.
Jamuzo does not use this information to make decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant consequences for users.
Google and advertising partners may perform advertising selection, measurement or profiling according to their own technologies, legal roles and your consent choices.
The Privacy Policy may be updated
We may update this Privacy Policy when Jamuzo features, service providers, legal requirements or data-processing activities change.
The current version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
Where a change is significant, we may provide an additional notice through the website, Guitar Passport interface, consent platform or email where appropriate.
