Choose Chromatic mode when you want Jamuzo to identify any note, or select a guitar tuning when you want to match six exact target strings. Allow microphone access when the browser asks, then pluck one string at a time. The tuner starts automatically whenever permission is available. The centre note shows what Jamuzo hears, while the meter shows whether the pitch is flat, sharp or in tune.
Chromatic mode or a tuning preset?
Chromatic mode follows the nearest note across the guitar range and is useful for checking any fretted note or unusual setup. Tuning mode connects the microphone detector to the complete Jamuzo tuning library. Select Standard, Drop D, Drop C, DADGAD, Open G or any other available setup and Jamuzo will compare the live pitch with the correct string targets.
Accurate tuning on desktop and mobile
Use a quiet room, mute the strings you are not tuning and pluck close to the microphone. Let the note sustain instead of striking it repeatedly. For an unplugged electric guitar, place the phone or computer microphone near the strings, or select an audio interface from the input menu after microphone permission has been granted.
Retune gradually and protect the instrument
Change one string at a time and approach every target pitch slowly. Recheck all six strings after the neck and bridge settle. Stop when a string becomes unusually tight or the instrument reacts unpredictably, especially when moving far above standard pitch or changing string tension significantly.
Microphone privacy
The Jamuzo tuner analyses the live microphone signal inside the browser. The theme does not record, store or upload microphone audio. The stream is stopped automatically when you leave the tuner page.
Common tuning questions
Does the Jamuzo guitar tuner work with acoustic and electric guitars?
Yes. An acoustic guitar can be detected through a device microphone. For an unplugged electric guitar, move the device closer to the strings or use an audio interface when available.
Does Jamuzo record or upload microphone audio?
No. The tuner analyses the live microphone signal inside the browser. The theme does not record, save or upload the audio stream.
Why does the tuner need microphone permission?
The browser requires permission before a website can access an audio input. Jamuzo attempts to start the tuner automatically, while Safari on iPhone and some other browsers may require one direct tap on Enable Microphone. The stream stops when you leave the tuner page.
What is the difference between chromatic mode and a tuning preset?
Chromatic mode identifies the nearest musical note. A tuning preset compares the detected pitch with the six target strings of a selected guitar tuning and shows which string is closest.
Which guitar tunings are supported?
The tuner is connected to the full Jamuzo tuning catalog, including standard, down-tuned, drop, open, modal, baritone and modern guitar tunings.
Why does the displayed note sometimes jump?
Background noise, weak string vibration, strong harmonics or another sounding string can confuse any microphone tuner. Pluck one string cleanly, mute the others and let the note sustain for a moment.
